The Problem

Our toy aims to battle 3 issues.

1.

Lack of women representation within STEM.

women in science stickers.jpeg

How many women scientists can you name off the top of your head?

Girls are often discouraged, both implicitly and explicitly, from pursuing Science in the future. A lack of role models is a key reason for this - ‘if you can see it, you can be it’.

The protagonist of Kiara Kits is an inventor and scientist, and we have also included Women in Science stickers for students to use and share.

2.

Unengaging Science Education.

What do you think of when you think of the word 'Science'?

Formulas and memorisation?

or experimentation, curiosity and wonder?

Using engaging pedagogy is key to inculcate an interest and appreciation in Science. That's why we use a combination of storytelling, hands-on building, and traditional pedagogy in Kiara Kits. Find out more here:

3.

Unequal Access to Quality Science Education.

Less than half of India's children between the age 6 and 14 go to school.

The educational resources used across schools is not democratized, thus significantly impacting access to science education for children.

Made from low cost materials, Kiara Kits aims to lessen this gap. We are also conducting free of cost workshops at local schools and NGOs in Delhi/Gurgaon currently. Find out more here:
